Tutorial: Form Fields

Overview

This tutorial demonstrates how to use three of the form field components: Slider, Dropdown, Rating Scale and Number Entry.

On the first screen of the display, participants are asked to rate their mood. The Slider component is set to a custom range of 0 - 10. By default, this range is 0 - 100. Custom labels have also been added by turning the 'Add Labels' toggle on. The tooltip is also shown in this example, so participants can see the values of the slider as they drag the handle. This can be controlled in the Additional Settings.

On the second screen of the display, participants are asked to choose one option from the Dropdown list. Each of the options are added individually, with their own label and response.

The third screen includes two Rating Scale components. Similarly to the Dropdown component, each of the options are added with their corresponding labels and responses. You can also add left and right labels to your scales if you choose to.

Finally, the fourth screen includes a Number Entry (Passive) component. This field will only accept numerical entries. If a letter key is pressed, this will not appear in the response field.

In all four component examples, the 'Required' toggle has been turned on. This means that participants will not be able to progress the screen without giving a response. If the Continue Button is clicked before a response is given, a red box will highlight where a response is needed. As all three of these components are passive, you will need to add either a Continue Button or Time Limit to advance the screen.
